We are so thrilled to announce that for Charity Fashion Live 2017 we will be teaming up with Love Your Clothes again! To top things off we are very excited to share that our charity partner for this year’s event will be Barnardo’s!

Here’s a little bit on why we think this is a match made in heaven.

Love Your Clothes

The national Love Your Clothes campaign launched in 2014 with the aim of changing the approach to how we in the UK buy, use and dispose of our clothing, and to help us make the most out of our wardrobes. This year, working towards this, Love Your Clothes London went grassroots, holding community repair and upcycling sewing workshops across the Capital. Their crafters passed on useful hints and tips on how to extend the life of clothes and showed how to transform tired pieces into completely new and fresh outfits. Just like the Charity Fashion Live team – Love Your Clothes have a real passion for fashion and as such they strive to educate on how you can help your clothes to last longer. It’s been inspiring for us to see Love Your Clothes London successfully advise and educate Londoners on how to be more fashion ‘conscious’. Watch this space for more info on their ‘Get the Trend Workshops’ taking place after our event on 18 February. We’d love you to join in!

Love Your Clothes London is helping to reduce the impact of clothing across London.  It does this by helping people change the way they buy, use and dispose of clothes.

Did you know?

An estimated £140 million worth (around 350,000 tonnes) of used clothing goes to landfill in the UK every year.

The work Barnardo’s do is beyond amazing, and we are incredibly proud to support that work by showing how fantastic their shops are and by raising more money for them by encouraging people to find and buy what we are sure will be their new favourite items of clothing! 😉

Barnardo’s believe in children – no matter who they are, what they have done or what they have been through. Regardless – Barnardo’s will ensure their needs are met and their voices are heard.

Barnardo’s retail

With over 720 stores across the UK, you’re guaranteed to find something you’ll love, whether your headed for their specialist vintage store in Cheadle Manchester or the Brixton store – the first charity shop in the UK to have a specialist music department.

Barnardo’s also help to save over 7,200 tons of textiles going to landfill each month, through their recycling schemes set up in store.

Check out Barnardo’s fashion blog, The-Thrift  which offers readers a wealth of style advice, trend updates and practical top tips on how to up-style pre-loved items found in their stores. The blog is also host to a large community of like-minded guest bloggers, all of whom have a passion for charity shopping and sustainable fashion.

With this CFL x Barnardo’s partnership showcasing the fabulous pieces available in store we are looking forward to demonstrating that charity fashion can be on trend, without compromising on quality or style!
