Where style is concerned, some might say that there is always a perfect partner. Whether it be the crisp white shirt to the devilishly dark blue jean (a classic), or more recently what’s been coined by some the ‘fugly sandal’ to the culotte… Well here at Charity Fashion Live, we too have found our perfect partners. This year the event is brought to you by Recycle for London and Love Your Clothes and hosted by Oxfam.

We couldn’t be happier than to be teaming up with these guys and here’s why we dig our partners like Sibling dig fabulously outlandish woollens and beautifully over the top head gear.

Love Your Clothes

We’ve been watching the wonderful work that Love Your Clothes have been doing to educate people on how they can make their clothes last longer whether it be innovative up cycling or simple tips on extending the life of treasured pieces. We have long been fascinated by the wealth of information and research they share on reducing waste water and carbon impacts through simply keeping and wearing your clothes for longer. After all it’s pretty good news to hear that by just extending the active life of our clothing for just three months impacts could be reduced by up to 15%.

Love Your Clothes is raising awareness of the value of clothing and helping us make the most of the clothes we already have.

Did you know that? …

The average UK household owns around £4,000 worth of clothing and on average, 30% of the clothes in our wardrobes haven’t been worn in the last year

Recycle for London

350,000 tons of potentially reusable textiles find their way to landfill each year in the UK. Recycle for London is a campaign which aims to provide Londoners with the knowledge, motivation and skills they need to recycle effectively, no matter where they are in the capital. The campaign website is being re-launched in October 2015 after a hiatus of two years, and will keep Londoners up-to-date with sustainable fashion news, events, tips and hints along with a range of other waste prevention and recycling information. Keep your eyes peeled for more information in the autumn!

Well because it’s a veritable treasure trove of goodies over there of course! There’s literally something for everyone whether you like shopping in Westbourne Grove for a designer bargin or Dalston Kingsland for the more weird and wonderful to bag yourself an old cult band Tee, a unique accessory or a Vinyl for the collection.

This aside – the work Oxfam do is beyond amazing so we are so proud to support that work by showing how fantastic their shops are and by raising more money for them by encouraging people to find and buy what we are sure will be their new favourite item of clothing! 😉

Oxfam’s Online Shop is the UK’s biggest charity shop with thousands of unique treasures all in one place, from the Oxfam Unwrapped range of charity gifts to more than 100,000 unique second hand items. There really is something for everyone, all in one place.
